Experience
As a former attendee of Towson University, I have spent five years as a elementary school mentor teacher. The subjects I regularly taught include writing, reading, math, as well as other standard education topics for elementary age students. Most of my experience is with elementary school subjects with the exception of 6th grade level math and ISEE test prep. Aside from teaching the subjects mentioned above, I was also required to observe other teaching staff within my school to make sure the students were being engaged properly. It is important to me that students remain engaged and challenged in the topics at hand. If a student can remain interested in a topic they will likely reach their full potential. I have also involved myself in after school programs, and have been successful thus far. It is always a pleasure to work with children, and I would love to provide tutoring and assistance if given the opportunity. I feel like I could provide excellent assistance with homework, additional resources, as well as help students better understand the subjects they are learning on a daily basis. While teaching is always of interest to me, my other hobbies include field hockey, cooking, and crafting.
